The Paper Pack Goes Digital!

The latest assignment for the paper pack was to use a digital image or digital paper. At first I was a little out of my comfort zone, but with a little help from my friend it turned out to be super easy!!!!!

I knew that I wanted to make 3x3 lunch notes (I like to send them in my kids' lunches to hopefully put a smile on their face:) So, in going with the school theme I used my Cricut Boxes, Bags and Tags cartridge to cut a crayon box.

This little guy is named "Willy". I got him from Victoria Case. I love her images and will definately adding more to my collection! One of the really nice things about digi stamps is that you can enlarge or shrink them to fit! On the image above, I cut off the flowers - I thought that it would make it more "boyish".

It might be kind of hard to tell in the pictures, but I added crystal effects to the glasses. I also colored Willy with the green spica pen - it added lots of fun sparkles!

I've survived!

My oldest has passed his driver's permit test. Yes, I did let him drive me home and I survived. I tried really hard not to freak out - and I think I did good! Yay!!!!

Ride 'em Cowgirl!

I am not very good at keeping up with challenges over at Splitcoast Stampers, but I do like to participate when I have time. Robin alerted me to this one, and it all seemed to come together!

I did a lot of paper piecing - it took a lot of time, but I like the results.

I've wanted to make a gel card for some time now! With the recent assignment to make some "manly" cards, this was my excuse!!! (I'm learning that I work best under pressure -crazy, huh!) I really like Nichole Heady's gel card - so I used that as my template. You can view her card here.

To a Great Pair...

I love the colors on this card!!!! Yellow is my favorite color, and almost color goes well with it!!!

This is another stamp set that I bought eons ago, but haven't inked up yet - don't tell my DH!

It's hard to tell in the photo, but I used crystal effects on the pears - I love that stuff!

I made some "manly" cards this week! Robin, Karen and I each made 9 and swapped with each other.

This was a fun one! I bought this background stamp from Cornish Heritage Farms a long time ago, but this was the first time I've used it. :) The truck is embossed - I liked the shinny result!!!

Happy Birthday Baby Brother!

My siblings and I don't exchange birthday gifts anymore (happens when you all get old!!!) I usually send them a card because I don't get to see them on their special day. This year, I went out to supper with my youngest brother and wanted to get him a "little something". He likes to fish, so I repackaged some gummy worms and added a bag topper to it.

I used the Cosmo Cricket Snorkle paper and the Cricut Life is A Beach cartridge to cut the fish.

Christmas in July...

Christmas in July was the theme for the "Paper Pack" swap group this month. "Someone" I know (and love) suggested that I use up some of my paper and make bows! Awesome idea!!! I also made tags for each bow. This is the tutorial that I used to make the bows.

I did not keep track of what paper that I used, but I can tell you what stamp set I used!!!

It's been a long time!

Life sure does get in the way sometimes, doesn't it? Summer has surely been kicking my butt, but I think that life is going to slow down for a couple of days! So here I am posting my May card for our local swap group!

Our assignment was "black and white with a splash of color"! Since it was graduation time AND I need some cards that was my focus! Gotta kill two birds with one stone these days!!!!

First Communion...

Two of my nieces celebrated their First Holy Communion this weekend. For such special girls and a special event, I wanted to make them a special card. :) Years ago I received this girl and a boy Communion kids stamps from a dear friend - I sure do love them!

On this card I used the rectangle nestabilities and my copic airbrush! I really like the way the color in the background makes the image stand out. The front of the card is shorter than the back (does that make sense?)

To make the shape of this card, I used the largest circle nestabilities. I cut out the communion girl and popped her up on the band (otherwise she looked like she was floating!!!) The "Rejoice" came from a pack of buttons that I bought a long time ago. I also used some of my flowers - sprayed with gold glimmer mist.

Butterfly Kisses...

I love this stamp set and haven't used it in awhile. I cased Amy Raysavy's card here.

I really liked how she made the butterflies look like they were flying off of the card! I stamped the larger butterfly on vellum, then cut it out and attached onto the card at the body only. Then I added a few sparkling gems for the butterfly body and paper piereced the flight line. AND I am using up some of my paper! Yay!!!!

Love Birds...

I just love these Kim Hughes images!!!! They are fun to color and paper piece!!!! This is a pretty simple design, but I think that it turned out well.

Simple Joys....

Some of you may know that I have a problem - with flowers! I have too many of them. I love to hoard them!!!! I know, I gotta get better at using them up, but sometimes it's just so hard. :) The medium and small iridescent flowers from Creative Impressions worked perfectly on this project!!!!

I found these little flower pots and galvanized planter at the dollar spot in Target. I packaged them together and made the sign for the planter.

I made this small clipboard as a gift for a family member's birthday. I haven't made one for awhile, so it was fun!!! I used some paper that I bought from Close to My Heart a long time ago - one of those things that I "just had to have!"

Take a Break!

It's been a long time since I've been able to craft! We've been trying to keep up with the kids' schedules and such. Today we had a snow day (can you believe it's March 31 and we got about 5 inches of snow -YUCK!) so the kids were home from school all day. After we did some chores, everyone kind of settled into their own project. YAY!

I was so honored to receive this actual stamp in the mail!!! I am apart of the Wish RAK over at Splitcoaststampers. I posted that I'd like to receive some images of this stamp, but she sent me the Actual Stamp! Thank you so much mm9772! I love it!!!

My Valentines....

These are the tags that I made for our kids' Valentine's Day goodies. I cut the hearts and letters with my Cricut. It sure has been fun learning about the Cricut - it's user friendly, but I'm learning something new about it everytime I use it!!!

I Dig U...

These are my valentine's treats for my neices and nephews. Robin and I were talking about Valentine's Day and treats for the special little people in our lives. She mentioned that someone on Splitcoast Stampers bought some shovels and attached a tag to it that read "I Dig U". Great idea! We bought a bunch of plastic shovels on Ebay and I attached gummy worms and a tag to them!

Paper Pack in January

Hello - sorry it's been so long since I last posted! I've been trying to catch up on year-end stuff! I think that I'm just about done - so YAY! for me!!!!

Our mission last month for the Paper Pack was to submit something without buying ANYTHING! Well, since I'm trying to use up some of my paper, this was a great deal for me! I made 10 "pizza boxes" (click here for the link for instructions at Splitcoast Stampers.) Remember this post?

I made three 3x3 cards with envelopes to put inside the boxes. I really like making 3x3 cards - for some reason the ideas for them come easier than the standard size card.

My inspiration for this card is the ribbon - I bought a roll of Pumpkin Pie striped ribbon from Stampin' Up! last fall and needed to use it up!
